Founded by Dr. Douglas Magenheim in 2003, My Doctor was created with a simple vision: to provide exceptional medical care through stronger physician-patient relationships, improved access, and a more personalized healthcare experience. Dr. Kellie Smith joined the practice in 2007, followed by Dr. Deborah Gerdes in 2021 and Dr. Meron Kassa in 2026.

As one of the first concierge-style primary care practices in Cincinnati, My Doctor was built on the belief that quality healthcare requires time, communication, and continuity. By caring for a limited number of patients, our physicians are able to provide a level of attention and accessibility that is difficult to achieve in traditional medical practices.

Our patients benefit from same-day or next-day appointments when medically appropriate, flexible appointment times, enhanced communication and access to their physician, preventive care planning, chronic disease management, and thoughtful coordination with specialists and hospitals.

My Doctor, LLC is an independent practice and is not limited to one hospital or healthcare network. This allows us to coordinate care with local hospitals, regional specialists, national experts, and centers of excellence based on each patient’s individual needs. Helping patients receive the right care, with the right specialists and facilities, is an important part of what makes our practice special.

Just as our practice has a different look and feel, the financial relationship between our patients and the practice is also different from a traditional primary care office. We continue to participate with major insurance plans and bill for covered professional services. In addition to regular fees for covered services, patients pay an annual subscription fee. This fee reflects the special access, communication, coordination, and support made possible by limiting the number of patients enrolled in the practice. Because these services are not recognized as covered benefits by Medicare or most insurance plans, the subscription fee is not covered by Medicare or insurance.

We have created an environment centered around your needs, your schedule, and your health. In many ways, My Doctor combines the compassionate, unhurried care of traditional medicine with modern medical knowledge, technology, and care coordination.

We offer complimentary Meet and Greet appointments for prospective patients and their families. We would be happy to describe our practice, answer your questions, and help you decide whether My Doctor is the right fit for your healthcare needs. Because our practice is limited in size, availability may be limited.
